Hi! My name is Emily, and I received my training through DONA, and I am a Nashville native. Some of my hobbies include playing the harp, taking ballet classes, running, swimming, teaching Lifeguard classes, and prior to COVID, acting. In addition to birth doula training, I have also taken classes/seminars in rebozo techniques, breastfeeding, and lactation after loss. I am also certified to teach and administer CPR, first aid, basic life support, and emergency oxygen through the American Red Cross.
I decided to become a doula because of my interests in women's health issues and in educating and advocating for others. I also believe that there is such a strong power in women helping and supporting other women. Building community to uplift and empower others is important in all aspects of my personal and professional life. I am passionate about and am exploring how physical, mental, and spiritual health are interconnected. To have the best pregnancy and birth possible, I believe that we need to consider the whole woman and how all the parts weave together to create a beautiful person.
